Arctic Friends- Musk Oxen
These two fellas were commission by a clothier in Alberta, CA who specializes in qiviut fiber garments. He furnished the rare and costly musk ox fiber, one of the word's softest, that covers these sculptures.
I am really impressed! I bought some Qiviut fiber when in Alaska for just this use. Because we have been traveling I haven't done anything with it as of yet, BUT, now I'm inspired! I love doing felted animal. So much character can be put onto to them (granted the fingers take a poking)! I usually try to do a Christmas ornament a year for my grandchildren. This year I did their favorite cuddle toys, a dog (again) and a unicorn. I never get over the excitement when the ornament (turn lovable toy) is given, such joy!
